Lacewood Chef Knife – Mammoth Tusk | 52100 Steel
Lacewood Chef Knife – Mammoth Tusk | 52100 Steel
This chef knife was built to be a high-performing, everyday tool in the kitchen while still carrying the refined details that define Dave’s work. At 11 inches overall with a 6-inch cutting edge, it has a compact, agile feel that makes it especially comfortable for controlled prep work and precise slicing.
The blade is crafted from 52100 high carbon steel and heat treated to 62 HRC, including a cryogenic treatment for increased durability and wear resistance. It is ground thin with a distal taper, giving it a smooth, effortless cutting feel that moves through food with ease.
The handle is made from stabilized lacewood and features a striking segment of red stabilized mammoth tusk, estimated to be between 10,000 and 20,000 years old. Brass and black G10 accents tie the materials together, while mosaic pins secure the handle and complete the build. The combination of materials gives each knife a unique look and character.
This knife comes paired with a custom-fitted lacewood saya. A hidden magnet inside the sheath helps keep the knife securely in place while protecting the blade during storage.
This knife also includes a bottle TEMPER, our hand-bottled camellia oil for blade care and protection.
Each knife is handmade by David D. Carey and ships fully insured to ensure it arrives safely and ready for years of dependable use.
