Petty Knife – 52100 Carbon Steel & Desert Ironwood
Petty Knife – 52100 Carbon Steel & Desert Ironwood
This hand-forged petty knife draws inspiration from traditional Japanese design while being built to last a lifetime. Crafted from 52100 high-carbon steel—often known as ball-bearing steel—the blade measures 6 ½ inches in overall length with a 5 ⅜ inch cutting edge. It features a full flat grind for excellent cutting performance, and the spine has been rounded for added comfort in hand. Professionally heat-treated to 62 HRC on the Rockwell scale, this knife takes and holds an exceptionally sharp edge.
The wa-style handle is made from a striking combination of desert ironwood, white micarta, and red G10, blending durability with refined aesthetics. The balance and octagonal shape provide a secure and comfortable grip, making it an ideal tool for precise slicing, trimming, and everyday kitchen prep.
As with all high-carbon steel knives, the blade will naturally patina over time and should be dried promptly after use to prevent rust.
All knives will be shipped fully insured.
